WELCOME TO TE PUKE – a rural town known internationally as the KIWIFRUIT CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. Centrally located by the coast, living here gives you close access Tauranga 23kms; Mount Maunganui 24kms; Rotorua 56kms; and Whakatane 66kms.
This means that enjoyment of the beaches, lakes, bush walks and many sporting facilities are only a short drive away.
The area is full of history, and it was in 1350 that the Te Arawa Canoe is said to have landed at Maketu. Just 7 minutes away the other small hamlet of Paengaroa where there are several tourist related business awaiting your arrival. One notably called Comvita where you can discover the magic of the honeybee. We also have an iconic giant kiwifruit at Kiwifruit Country a facility enjoyed by many including national and international tourists whereby they can tour a kiwifruit operation.
Located just 15 minutes east is a thriving beachside community of Pukehina. It features a beautiful 6km long white sandy beach, ideal for swimming, surfing, sailing, canoeing and wind surfing.
